Established in 1989, the George Martin Group has focused on creating unique restaurant experiences that are on the cutting edge, delivering artful, ambitious cuisine.

George Martin opened in Rockville Centre that year and promptly received two stars from the New York Times as well the LI Newsday and is consistently listed among the top 40 most popular Long Island restaurants in Zagat. In early 2007, after eighteen years in business, George Martin underwent a design renovation - continuing to move forward with the times. In December of 2007, Joanne Starkey of The New York Times awarded George Martin three stars. In 1996, our second restaurant, Nick DiAngelo in Merrick opened and again, merited two stars from the New York Times. The following year, restaurant number three opened in Rockville Centre, Max's Grille & Tavern. In March 2005, a second Nick DiAngelo opened in Long Beach to rave reviews from the New York Times and Newsday.

In 2006, after a successful nine year run as Max's Grille & Tavern, the George Martin Group made the decision to reinvent the restaurant as George Martin's Grillfire. This transformation involved a major renovation of the space, as well as the creation of an innovative new menu. We continued to grow the brand by converting Nick DiAngelo in Merrick over to Grillfire - which continues to receive rave reviews.

Coastal Grill opened in Long Beach in May 2007 as an upscale seafood grill by the beach. George Martin Group expansion projects never cease and due to the great popularity of Grillfire in Rockville Centre and Merrick, we are opening a third Grillfire in Long Beach - taking over the Nick DiAngelo location. Nick DiAngelo, having been an icon in Long Beach since its inception in 2004, is moving into the current home of Coastal Grill. Watch for the Grand Opening of Nick's Tuscan Grill in March 2010!
